Charbon de bois wholesale
Wholesale charcoal for France
Virovo Promet supplies hardwood charcoal and briquettes to France by pallet, full truck or container, quoted per order. Buyers are grossistes, restaurants with grills and rôtisseries, and retail chains in Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Bordeaux. Containers arrive through Marseille-Fos or Le Havre; trucks come by road through Italy or Germany.
How we deliver to France
France is served by sea or by road, depending on where you are. A 20 ft or 40 ft container loads in Skopje, moves to Thessaloniki, about 230 km away, and sails to Marseille-Fos for the south or Le Havre for Paris and the north, where your forwarder collects it. A full 13.6 m truck with about 33 Euro pallets runs by road through Italy or Germany; groupage suits a first order of a few pallets.
For Marseille and Lyon the container often fits well; for Paris and Bordeaux we quote both and let you compare. Transit by road or sea is confirmed in the quotation together with the loading date. Incoterms are agreed per order, from EXW Skopje through FOB Thessaloniki to delivered at your warehouse.
Customs and documents for France
Ask your customs representative to confirm the classification, origin documents and import requirements for the actual goods and destination. Dispatch from Skopje does not, by itself, prove North Macedonian origin or establish a preferential duty rate.
Before ordering, agree the invoice, packing list, transport document and any additional product, traceability or safety documents required for your shipment. The broker and carrier should confirm clearance or transit arrangements and responsibilities before loading.
Who buys from us in France
Charbon de bois in France moves through grossistes to restauration and retail, and the summer season is the peak. Grossistes in Paris, Lyon, Marseille and Bordeaux stock lump charcoal for restaurants and charcoal briquettes for supermarkets, in 2 to 10 kg bags with French labels, and many want a private-label bag for their own range.
Restaurants with grills and rôtisseries ask for Marabu when service runs long (indicatively up to around 7 hours of burn, varying by lot, with low smoke and sparks once fully lit); classic grilling is usually oak or beech. Retail chains order before the season so shelves are full when the weather turns. Private-label bags are available on request, with extra lead time. The range is subject to availability and includes acacia among others.
What to include in your enquiry
Send the product, the quantity in pallets, trucks or containers, the bag size, the delivery address in France or the port, the Incoterm you prefer, your target date and any private-label needs, including the artwork language. Virovo Promet confirms in writing the availability, the net load per container or truck, the packaging, the documents for the lot and the terms.
Virovo Promet is a family-owned charcoal wholesaler in Skopje, North Macedonia, founded in 1990, exporting full-container loads of hardwood charcoal across Europe and beyond. Everyone is welcome at the Skopje office and warehouse, Monday to Saturday 08:00 to 16:00, and a video call in English is the practical first step for buyers in France.
Which port do you use for France?
Marseille-Fos for the south and Le Havre for Paris and the north, confirmed per booking. Containers sail from Thessaloniki, about 230 km from Skopje.
Can you deliver by truck to Lyon or Paris?
Yes. Trucks run by road through Italy or Germany; a few pallets go as groupage. Transit is confirmed in the quotation.
Do you supply private-label charbon de bois for a French chain?
Yes. Own-brand bags in 2 to 10 kg with French labels are available on request for most types, with extra lead time.
Is the charcoal duty-free in France under the SAA?
Have your customs representative verify the current tariff and any applicable preference for the exact product and origin. We confirm the available origin documents for the actual lot; shipment from Skopje alone is not proof of preferential origin.
Does EUDR apply to charcoal imported into France?
Yes, from 30 December 2026 for large and medium operators, from 30 June 2027 for most micro and small operators, with exceptions. We discuss due-diligence information per order and make no compliance claim.
